Davenport Rustic Scenes Soup Plate c.1815

 

 

A finely potted, pearlware, soup plate from the Rustic Scenes series. This transfer printed series of scenes was made by the firm of Davenport, Longport, Staffordshire in the early nineteen century. The plate has the impressed 'Davenport' and Anchor mark used until c.1815.

The soup plate is 9.7 inches (24.6cm) wide and weighs 380g

The soup plate is in very good condition. There is no damage and no restoration. There is crazing to the glaze all over the plate and a few very minor utensil marks on the face. There are some deeper scratches on the base.
