Davenport Fisherman Series Soup Plate c.1810

A finely potted, Davenport, transfer printed pearlware, soup plate from the Fisherman series. This series is also known by the name of Gothic Ruins. This early series still shows Chinese influence in the style of the engraving and dates to c.1810. The plate has an impressed Davenport and Anchor mark.

The soup plate is 9.5 inches (24cm) wide and weighs 380g.

The soup plate is in excellent condition. There is no damage or restoration. There is fine crazing to the glaze all over the plate and only a couple of extremely minor marks in the well.
